Retail is in my blood, at the age of seven I remember going with dad to watch trade on the family store in Birkenhead market. When I older I started working for him on Saturdays and school holidays. I want to specialise in visual merchandising to build on and develop my knowledge to help me to start. This were I started to specialise in visual merchandising to build on develop my knowledge to help me to start my career in this industry. At the minute I am completing a degree in visual mechanising and promotional design. The course has appreciate, understand and enjoy fashion, and developed my creative interests, like visiting galleries I have opportunity the 5 years doing retail doing window displays with models, to actually plan out window space. On course I have discovered new ways developing and illustrating my ideas, from sketching to mixed media techniques, including creative suite these programs have helped me to develop the quality of my work.
At school I won a regional “Learner of the year” Award because of the achievement that I made in spite of the difficulties caused by my dyslexia. The support I have during time at Hugh Baird univirty centre has given strategies and me the confidence need to help get ready be work environment. The support given me opportunities develop my creative flair which also helped who I become today Which helped me come who I am today
The museums I have vested I have seen things that I could use in my work and interested me. When I have been aboard on holiday I have always picked up fashion tips and these trips have inspired me to enjoy fashion and to be broad minded about culture and tastes. I have always spent my spare time making things making things, such as greeting cards and use the inspiration I find in galleries on holidays and in everyday life, that I could use in my work at uni.
