I really don’t think you both realise just how much your support meant to me while we were abroad and my friend was in hospital.
Being in another country, miles away from home, made an already frightening situation feel even more overwhelming. I was somewhere unfamiliar, worried about my friend and trying to deal with everything while my head was all over the place.
But through all of it, I had you two beside me.
While I was worrying about my friend, you were quietly looking after me. You made sure I wasn’t facing everything alone. You checked on me, listened to me and reassured me when I needed it.
I wasn’t thinking about looking after myself, so you did it for me.
You noticed when I hadn’t eaten and made sure I had something. You made sure I was drinking and taking care of myself, even when those things were the last thing on my mind.
Being abroad meant I couldn’t just go home to my family or the familiar comforts I would normally turn to when something went wrong. You two became that comfort
Now that I’m home and back to everyday life, I keep thinking about our holiday and all the memories we made at Hotel Bitácora. Sometimes you don’t realise how special those little moments are until the holiday is over. ❤️
This was our third year choosing the adults-only UP experience, and it really has become part of our Tenerife holiday. Every time we arrive back at Bitácora, I get that lovely feeling of “we’re back.” It feels familiar, comfortable and somewhere I can finally switch off.
One of my favourite things this year was our pool-view room. 🌴☀️ Waking up, looking outside and seeing the pool instantly reminded me that I was in Tenerife. Sometimes I would just stand there looking at the view and take it all in. I really miss that now I’m home.
Our UP Days are always special. I love being able to relax in the adults-only area, feel the sunshine, enjoy a drink and spend time chatting and laughing. There’s no rushing around and no thinking about work or what needs doing back home — just enjoying the moment.
We also love spending time in the UP Lounge. It’s become another part of our holiday and somewhere we can sit back, relax and enjoy being together. 🍹
Then there are the UP Club and party nights! 🎉❤️ We always enjoy them. There are laughs, drinks, music and those little moments between friends that end up becoming some of your favourite memories.
Food is another part of Bitácora that I really enjoy. The snack bar and buffet restaurant are great, and being vegetarian, it means a lot to me that I can always find something I enjoy eating. 🌱 I never feel like I’m missing out.
We also really enjoy our UP meal. Sitting together, enjoying our food, chatting and laughing is another simple part of the holiday that I really treasure.
At night, we love heading into the main part of Bitácora to watch the shows. 🎶✨ I love the atmosphere in the evenings. After relaxing in UP during the day, it’s lovely to sit together and enjoy the entertainment.
This holiday had some unexpected emotional moments too when my friend became unwell. It was frightening and certainly not something we expected to deal with while away. Thankfully everything turned out okay, but it made me appreciate our time together even more. ❤️
It reminded me that holidays aren’t just about the sunshine, the hotel or where you travel to. They’re about the people you share them with, looking after each other, laughing together and making memories that you bring home with you.
When I think about Bitácora now, I don’t just think about a hotel. I think about our happy place.
I think about waking up to that pool view, the Tenerife sunshine, our UP Days, relaxing in the lounge, the party nights, the food, cocktails, evening shows and all the laughs along the way.
Coming home is always bittersweet. I’m happy to be home, but part of me is already missing waking up in Tenerife and knowing another Bitácora day is ahead.
A massive thank you to everyone at Hotel Bitácora and the UP team for welcoming us back and helping make our third year another one we’ll remember. ❤️

Celebrating my birthday in Tenerife is always special, but this year my birthday meal at Melrose’s in Playa de las Américas meant more to me than I ever expected. ❤️
We first visited Melrose’s last year and really enjoyed it. I remembered the lovely atmosphere, food and friendly staff, so when we came back to Tenerife this year, I knew I wanted to return for my birthday.
But the days leading up to my birthday hadn’t quite gone as planned.
One of my friends became really unwell during our holiday, and for a while I genuinely didn’t know whether they would be well enough to make it to my birthday meal. It had been an emotional and worrying time, and suddenly celebrating my birthday didn’t seem as important as knowing my friend was okay.
That’s why walking into Melrose’s and eventually seeing us all sitting together around Table 4 meant so much to me.
I remember looking around the table at my three friends and thinking how grateful I was that we were actually there together. ❤️ After everything that had happened, being able to laugh, talk, enjoy a cocktail and celebrate another birthday felt like something I shouldn’t take for granted.
It wasn’t about presents or having a big celebration. Having my friends there was the best birthday present I could have asked for.
Delicious Food & Cocktails 🍹
The food was absolutely delicious. I had the mushrooms for my starter and the sea bass for my main, and I really enjoyed both.
We also enjoyed some lovely cocktails. 🍹 After the emotions of the previous few days, it felt good just to sit back, relax and enjoy ourselves.
Time Together ❤️
One thing I really loved about Melrose’s was that we never felt rushed.
There was a nice amount of time between our starters, mains and puddings. For us, that was perfect because it gave us more time to talk, laugh and socialise.
That time around the table was probably my favourite part of the whole evening. We weren’t just going out to eat — we were making memories together.
A Lovely Birthday Surprise 🎂
The staff were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, welcoming and attentive throughout the evening and made us feel really comfortable.
Then they made my birthday even more special by wishing me Happy Birthday and giving me a birthday treat on them. 🎂❤️
That little surprise really touched me. After such an emotional few days, it was lovely to have something happy to smile about.
The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, the cocktails were lovely, and we thought it was great value for money too.
Why I’ll Always Remember Table 4
I think Table 4 will always mean something to me now.
It was where I celebrated another year of my life, but more importantly, it was where I sat with three friends I care about after a difficult few days and realised how precious those moments together can be.
Last year, Melrose’s gave us a lovely meal.
This year, it gave me a birthday memory I’ll treasure. ❤️

After an amazing two weeks away in Tenerife, I’m finally back home. It feels so strange being back after spending my days in the sunshine, relaxing by the pool, enjoying lovely food and drinks, and making so many memories.
This holiday has definitely been one to remember. There have been lots of happy moments, plenty of laughs and also a few emotional and unexpected moments along the way. But that’s all part of the memories we’ve made.
I’m so grateful for the people I shared this holiday with and for all the memories we’ve brought home with us. ❤️
As much as I love going away, there really is something special about walking back through your own front door, seeing your own bed and knowing you’re home.
Now it’s time for the less exciting part… unpacking, washing and getting back to reality! 😂🧳

I can’t believe I’m writing this already, but the last few hours of my Tenerife holiday are here. 🥹❤️
These two weeks seem to have gone so quickly. It feels like only yesterday I was excitedly packing my suitcase, counting down the days and getting ready to come away. Now I’m looking around, trying to take everything in one last time before heading home.
This holiday has given me so many memories. There have been sunny days, lovely food, drinks, laughter and those little moments that you don’t always realise are special until you look back on them. 🌴🍹☀️
It hasn’t all gone exactly to plan. There have been some emotional and worrying moments along the way, especially when someone close to me became unwell. It certainly wasn’t something any of us expected to happen while on holiday, but thankfully things turned out okay in the end. ❤️
If anything, those moments have reminded me just how important it is to appreciate the people around you and enjoy the good times when you can.
So for these last few hours, I’m going to enjoy every little bit of Tenerife that I can. One last look at the beautiful views, one last bit of sunshine and a few more photos before the suitcase closes and it’s time to say goodbye. 📸☀️
I’m sad that it’s nearly over, but I’m also incredibly grateful for another holiday filled with memories that I can take home with me.

This holiday has been amazing, but it has also been one of the most emotional holidays I’ve ever experienced.
When my friend suddenly became unwell and ended up in hospital, everything changed in a moment. One minute we were enjoying our holiday together, and the next we were worried, scared and just hoping they were going to be okay.
Being away from home made it feel even harder. You realise how much you take for granted when everything is going well.
Thankfully, everything turned out okay in the end, which is the most important thing. ❤️ But the experience has really opened my eyes to just how important travel insurance is.
You never book a holiday thinking something bad is going to happen. You think about the sunshine, memories, laughs and adventures — not hospitals and emergencies.
After what we’ve been through, I will never see holiday insurance as just another thing to pay for. It’s there for those moments you never expect.
This holiday has given me some beautiful memories, but it has also taught me a very important lesson: look after yourself, look after the people you love, and never take tomorrow for granted. ❤️🌴
This holiday has been amazing, but it’s also been an emotional rollercoaster.
We were having such a lovely time together when suddenly my friend became really unwell. Seeing someone I care about in pain while we were away from home was scary, especially when we found out they needed an emergency appendectomy.
Those few days were filled with worry and emotions. All I wanted was for my friend to be okay. ❤️
Thankfully, the operation went well, and seeing my friend recovering was such a huge relief. It made me realise just how quickly things can change and how important it is to appreciate the people you have around you.
Despite those difficult days, we’ve still laughed, smiled and made some amazing memories together. ☀️🌴
This certainly wasn’t something we expected to happen on holiday, but thankfully everything turned out okay in the end.
It’s been an amazing, emotional and unforgettable holiday — and one that has made our friendship and the memories we’ve made feel even more special. ❤️
do believe in karma in my own way. I believe the way you treat people eventually says more about you than it ever does about them.
I’ve had times in my life when people haven’t treated me with the kindness or respect I deserved. Sometimes it hurts, especially when you know you haven’t done anything wrong. But I’m learning that I don’t need to get even or wish anything bad on anyone.
I’d rather protect my peace, keep being myself and let life take care of the rest.
Maybe karma isn’t always about something bad happening back to someone. Maybe it’s simply that the energy and kindness you put into the world eventually find their way back to you.
So I’ll keep choosing kindness, even when other people don’t. ❤️
When I found out we were returning to Tenerife this year, I already had one place in mind for my birthday meal — Melrose’s in Playa de las Américas. ❤️
We had visited the year before and came away with such happy memories. We loved the food, the atmosphere and how welcoming everyone was, so I really wanted to experience it again. I imagined my birthday being a relaxed evening with my three friends, enjoying some lovely food, having a few cocktails and celebrating together in the Tenerife sunshine.
But I could never have imagined just how much that birthday meal would end up meaning to me.

Hotel Bitácora in Tenerife holds such a special place in my heart. From the moment I arrive, it feels like I am returning to my happy place.
